so i post on here pretty regularly uh, yeah.  anyhay, today's post is dedicated to my wonderful sister-in-law, stephanie.  it's her birthday TODAY!  she's a great friend, amazing caregiver to children (this includes all children of anyone who has ever had the privilege of steph's babysitting services), has a beautiful spirit that beats parallel to God's, she's a servant in every sense of the word and her smile will light up a room!  if you've ever had even a short conversation with stephanie none of this will surprise you.  auntie stephie has also been known to provide her personal salon services to adoring little girls, complete with nails (including toes), hair and atire.  so on behalf of the adoring little neices in this household, we look forward with much anticipation to "our" (uh, them not me) next makeover!  ~HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE!  know that you are loved!

  • total heartache, please visit http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/

so i have been on facebook and maintain that far more than i do this blog.  a very close friend of mine mentioned something on her fb about praying for baby cora.  i had to know more. turns out my friend knows the extended family of this baby -not the parents.  i went to their blog that is updating regularly on her condition, read from the beginnning (about 2 weeks prior to today) and am simply heartbroken by all that has happened to this family and their daughter in such a short amount of time.  cora, the baby in serious condition, is not even a year old yet and has cancer, a type of cancer that the parents don't even know yet if it's the "good" or "bad" kind.  they are still waiting those tests results.  i have little impact on many people, but am hopeful and praying that this is an opportunity for me to spread the word about a grave need for prayer on behalf of this family.  i will do all i can to get this as much "publicity" as possible, would you please do the same?  the blog link is this: http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/  maybe take a minute and do a small post yourself whereever you can. blogs, xanga's, facebook, myspace, email, church prayer lists and please don't forget to bathe this family in prayer as often as possible.

father in heaven, you hear us when we pray. we come to you because you are the great Physician, god of all comfort and ruler of all.  we humbly ask for your divine intervention on this baby's life and would you grant mercy on this family. would you sustain them with love from their families, the prayers from those who also call you father and the peace that only you can give.  would you also continue to strengthen cora's body as it fights this terrible disease, the surgeries it must go through and the infections that persist.  father god, intercede how only you can.

  • twice in the same week, can it be?

jennifer this one is for you.  so the radio has been on a lot and of course every news break is talking about the inauguration.  yesterday was one of those days.  the words "barack obama" came on and sparked some interest among the girls.  "mom, they said barack obama! why?"  i tell them that today is the day he becomes president of the united states of america to which i got another "why?".  reluctantly i remind them of the elections and how john mccain lost and it is now the time for barack obama to be president.  a very long, sad face from daughter #2.  her world has just stopped.  so we again have a brief discussion about our need to pray for him.  number 1 asks "does he like babies yet?".   i hesitate and i reply, "no".  she then says "does he like us?".  wow, tough questions from these little minds.  i explained to her that he doesn't know them, but if he did i was sure he'd like them.  end of discussion.  so the day is winding down and it's time for bed.  it's my turn to put the kids to bed and say prayers with them.  frustrated by the length of time it takes everyone to pee, brush teeth, collect all personal articles that they can't live/sleep without and finally get into bed, i am in a bit of a hurry as i am holding #4 who is squirming all over the place in my arms.  i pray, say i love you's and goodnight's and am about to lay #4 down for the night.  #3 quickly gets my attention, "but mom, we didn't pray for barack obama".  i quickly respond with a "we will in the morning" and then hesitate. "ugh", i think to myself, "do i really have to?  you know you should.  this is an opportunity to show them the importance of following through with what you say".  so i give the "floor" to #3 and say, "okay, how about you pray for barack obama tonight?".  in her soft, energetic little voice i hear "dear jesus, thank you for barack obama. in jesus, amen!"   i melted.  thank you God for my dear children, their tender hearts and how they recognize the importance of You.

  • CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

so i was hanging with my in-laws yesterday and received quite a bit of flack for my xanga postings...or lack of, should i say! so here we are posting/updating "everyone", i think i have 3 people who read this, about my useless and absolutely meaningless information/happenings of my life.  this is for you elizabeth.  i woke up this morning after a fairly restful sleep -restful meaning i only got up 3 times last night for a crying child compared to the 6 or 7.  i was sure this was going to be an amazing day!   anyhoo, the morning started off with a bang...literally.  daughter #2 hit the floor with a bang as she was rudly awoken by daughter #3 plugging in the christmas lights in their room  -that come with the strict coindition of "DO NOT TURN ON UNITL EVERYONE IS AWAKE" attached to them.  #2 is rather sensitive and likes to awaken slowy, much like her mother (although that never happens anymore  -for the mother that is). she came to me crying like someone had just severed off her arm. now, daughter #4 is awake as well. oh, what glorious day.  the morning progressed from there with great entertainment for all who might have been listening via government sattelite (they're always watching you) or peeping through my windows.  i'm sure the looks on the faces of anyone who heard or saw the event would have looked much like that of the faces of my children upon seeing veins popping from my neck and forehead as i think i was literally about to combust.  no, this did not all happen because of daughter #2's blessed entrance into the day, however i do believe it was the first domino to fall.  there were many events that had already graced my being causing a great time of testing in patience and "slow to anger"ness (if that's a word)...i was going down faster than the titanic after having held on quite well for some time!  my lack of desire to give the details is forbidding me to "bare" more or should i say "bore" more .  oh, and where was daughter #1 thru all of this?  completely, absolutely and most assuredly not involved in anyway, shape or form...that's the word on the street anyway . well, this concludes this segment of "useless and absolutely meaningless information/happenings of my life".  i'm sure now the world will be able to rest much easier as it tucks itself into bed tonight!
